Cousins Found Dead Weeks Apart in Dawson Creek, B.C. Identified: Police Revelation

Dawson Creek, British Columbia – Two cousins in Dawson Creek, British Columbia, were discovered dead weeks apart, sparking concerns and investigations by local authorities. RCMP confirmed the deaths of Darylyn Supernant and Renee Didier (Supernant), both indigenous Cree women, after they had gone missing in the small city.

The remains of Darylyn Supernant, last seen alive in March 2023, were identified on April 19, 2024, on the 219 Road in Dawson Creek through DNA testing. This comes shortly after the confirmation of Renee Didier (Supernant)’s death, who had been missing since December 2023, with her remains found near the Kiskatinaw River in May. Family members mentioned that the two cousins moved in different social circles.

The deaths of the cousins are part of a series of missing persons cases in Dawson Creek in 2023, leading to community-wide searches and concerns about public safety. The ongoing investigations have not linked the cases to each other or to gang-related activities in the area, despite an increase in gang-related violence reported by the RCMP.

The missing person cases include Dave Daniel Domingo, last seen on August 29, and Cole Hosack, missing since New Year’s Eve. The closure of a local bar where Hosack was last spotted raised questions, although the police have not confirmed any connection to the disappearances. The RCMP continues to investigate the deaths of Didier and Supernant.

Shelley Supernant, Darylyn’s mother, described her daughter as “happy-go-lucky” and shared concerns about the safety of residents in Dawson Creek amidst the ongoing crimes. She highlighted her daughter’s hobbies and personality, noting her daughter’s potential vulnerability in the city’s escalating violence.

As the investigations remain active, Dawson Creek RCMP urge anyone with information to come forward. The community remains on edge, awaiting answers and closure for the families of the victims.
