The U.S. Department of Justice revealed that Jennifer Marie Stately, a 35-year-old woman, allegedly attacked and killed two children by slashing them with a sharp object before setting their home ablaze. One child succumbed to fatal stab wounds, while the other tragically passed away from smoke inhalation.

Following the heinous act, Stately fled the scene with a third child, prompting an AMBER Alert to be issued. Fortunately, a vigilant motorist spotted Stately’s vehicle and alerted law enforcement, leading to her apprehension with the child. The child, found with visible injuries and neglect, was promptly taken for medical attention.

The indictment against Stately includes charges of premeditated murder, murder during the commission of child abuse, murder during the commission of arson, arson, and felony child neglect.
