Calgary Mother Urges Public to Help Solve 15-Year-Old Daughter’s Tragic Murder

The mother of a teenage murder victim in Calgary is pleading for anyone with information about her daughter’s death to come forward. Sarah Alexis Jorquera, 15, was shot in an alley in the 300 block of Martindale Drive N.E. at 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28. She was in the front passenger seat of a vehicle at the time, and sadly, the shooting was a tragic case of mistaken identity, according to the Calgary Police Service’s homicide unit.

Andrea Heon, Jorquera’s mother, expressed the devastating impact of her daughter’s untimely death. The family is struggling to adjust to life without Jorquera, describing her as a vibrant person who loved music and animals and cared deeply for her friends and family.

The case remains under active investigation, with police urging anyone who may have information, whether through eyewitness accounts or surveillance footage, to come forward. The police are determined to bring closure for the family and are seeking the public’s assistance in their efforts.

As of Thursday, Calgary has seen 21 homicides in 2023, with nine remaining unsolved, including the death of Sarah Alexis Jorquera.
