Bus Student Brutally Beaten and Filmed on Social Media Sparks Investigation

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. – A high school student from Chapel Hill High School in Douglas County, Georgia, is recovering after a brutal beating on a school bus sent him to the emergency room. Authorities are now investigating the incident, which was captured on video and shared on social media, according to the student’s mother, Felicia Carrington.

Carrington expressed anger and concern for her 17-year-old son, Zion, who was left traumatized and with a concussion after being attacked on the bus ride home. She stated that the assailants used a belt buckle to assault him and even spat on him during the attack.

The concerned mother, who was out of town at the time, said she received a call notifying her of the assault by two students and later witnessed parts of the attack in videos posted on social media by other students.

They emphasized their commitment to the safety and well-being of their students and assured parents that this incident has caused grave concern.

Carrington expressed hesitancy in sending her son back to school and vowed to press charges against those involved. School officials have also stated that the students responsible for the attack will face disciplinary action and consequences, although they did not reveal the specifics.

The incident has raised concerns about safety and the well-being of students in the community, prompting authorities to reiterate their commitment to maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for every student.
