Brutally-Beaten St. Louis Teen Reportedly Breathing on Own in Stable Condition

ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI – A St. Louis teenager brutally attacked in a viral video is showing signs of improvement after suffering a fractured skull in the assault. The 16-year-old, identified as Kaylee, was involved in the incident near Hazelwood East High School in Spanish Lake, Missouri. The attack, which took place on March 8, led to life-threatening brain swelling and bleeding for Kaylee.

Recent updates on Kaylee’s condition indicate that she is now breathing on her own and has been moved out of the Intensive Care Unit. The teenager remains in stable condition following the traumatic events. A GoFundMe page has been set up to support Kaylee and her family during this difficult time.

Following the assault, a 15-year-old girl was arrested and held on assault charges by the St. Louis County Family Court. The family’s attorney, Bryan Kaemmerer, revealed that Kaylee had not yet regained consciousness after the attack.

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey has launched an investigation into the Hazelwood School District in response to the incident. Bailey expressed concerns about the school district’s handling of the situation, particularly regarding the implementation of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs.

In a letter addressed to Hazelwood School District Superintendent Dr. Nettie Collins-Hart, Bailey criticized the district for allegedly prioritizing political narratives over student safety. The investigation aims to uncover any potential failures in the school system that may have contributed to the violent attack on Kaylee.

The community has shown an outpouring of support for Kaylee and her family, with many individuals offering prayers and assistance. The incident has sparked conversations about school safety and the importance of addressing underlying issues that may lead to acts of violence among students.

As Kaylee continues her recovery, authorities are working diligently to ensure that justice is served and that steps are taken to prevent similar incidents in the future. The incident has brought attention to the need for reform and accountability within the education system to uphold the safety and well-being of all students.
