ONTARIO, CALIFORNIA – Two brothers are currently in custody and facing charges in connection with the fatal shooting of a 43-year-old man earlier this week in Ontario.
The tragic incident unfolded on Tuesday when officers from the Ontario Police Department responded to reports of a shooting on the 300 block of West C Street. Upon arrival, law enforcement found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds, and despite efforts by paramedics from the Ontario Fire Department, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following an intensive investigation, authorities determined that the shooting stemmed from a verbal altercation that escalated into violence. It was revealed that two individuals, later identified as brothers Michael Castillo, 18, and Daniel Castillo, were involved in the altercation. Michael allegedly pulled out a gun and shot the victim multiple times before fleeing the scene.
Both suspects were apprehended the following day around 7:15 p.m. and are now being held at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga. Michael faces charges of first-degree murder, while Daniel is facing charges for being an accessory after the fact.
