Bronx Family Murder: Son Arrested for Horrific Triple Slaying, Including 5-Year-Old Brother

BRONX, NY – Police in the Bronx have made an arrest in a horrific triple homicide, after a son allegedly murdered his father’s new family, including his 5-year-old half-brother. The suspect, 19-year-old Jayden Rivera, has been charged with brutally killing 38-year-old Jonathan Rivera, 33-year-old Hanoi Peralta, and the 5-year-old Kayden Rivera inside their apartment on 674 East 136th St.

Police sources have indicated that Jayden Rivera was acting as a babysitter for his half-brother at the time of the alleged murders and may have experienced a psychotic episode. Jonathan Rivera was found in the building’s hallway with multiple stab wounds, as well as slash marks and defensive wounds on his hands. Peralta, who suffered 15 stab wounds to the back and seven to the chest, was found in an apartment nearby.

The youngest victim, Kayden, was found disemboweled on a bed with numerous stab wounds. According to Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny, evidence uncovered at the scene suggested a particularly gruesome crime.

Neighbors reported hearing screams in the early hours of the morning, and later Rivera’s mother called authorities to report that he was hearing voices. Rivera is currently undergoing a psychological evaluation at Westchester County Hospital.

Following his arrest, Rivera has been charged with multiple counts of murder, including murder with intent, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon.

The harrowing nature of the crime has left the community reeling, and authorities continue to investigate the tragic event in the Bronx.
