According to the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office, the incident unfolded when the woman confronted John Zarling over allegations of animal abuse. In response, Zarling reportedly launched an aggressive attack on her. Sheriff Matt Leirstein underscored the significance of the Parks brothers’ bravery, emphasizing that their timely intervention made a critical difference.
