Among the victims were a 41-year-old woman, Umarani, who was found with a bullet wound in her right leg, and two municipal councilors, Md Abdul Karim (44) and Md Nasiruddin (46), who were discovered critically injured and unconscious. All three victims were assaulted near an oil pump in the southern Bishnupur district on Tuesday night. The police reported that the councilors were found unconscious with severe injuries a short distance from where the woman was discovered. The injured individuals were promptly taken to a hospital in Imphal for urgent medical treatment.
