Assault Suspects in Vintage Car Dispute Sought by Portland Police Department

Portland, Oregon – The Portland Police Bureau is seeking the public’s assistance in locating suspects and witnesses involved in a violent assault in the Pearl District. On February 24, 2024, at around 9:30 p.m., officers from Central Precinct responded to reports of an assault in the 900 block of Northwest 13th Avenue. Upon arrival, they found an adult male with serious injuries, who was subsequently hospitalized and spent over a week in a coma. Although the victim is slowly awakening, he continues to struggle with memory loss and delirium, facing a long road to recovery.

The case has been assigned to the PPB’s Major Crimes Unit, as detectives have determined that the victim was likely attacked by up to three men following a disagreement over the make/model of a vintage vehicle that may have been part of a classic car gathering earlier that evening. The suspects are described as Hispanic or Caucasian males, approximately 30 years old and weighing between 200 to 250 lbs. They may have ties to a vintage Chevy vehicle, potentially grey/blue/green in color. Detectives are also looking for a large white truck with bright blue neon lights that could be linked to the suspects or witnesses.
