Assault in Largs: Detectives Seek Witnesses After Evening Robbery of Dog Walker

Detectives in Largs, Scotland, are seeking the public’s help following a violent assault and robbery that occurred on December 29. The incident took place around 5:15 p.m. as a man was taking his dog for a walk along Nelson Street, when he was suddenly confronted by two suspects.

The suspects reportedly assaulted the man, stealing his mobile phone before fleeing the scene toward Moorburn Road. Emergency services quickly responded, and the victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. Fortunately, his stolen phone was later recovered by authorities.

Authorities described the assailants as two white males believed to be in their late teens or early twenties. One is around 5 feet 8 inches tall and was wearing dark clothing, while the other is slightly taller at approximately 5 feet 10 inches, sporting a dark jacket and black trousers.

Detective Constable Fraser Barr emphasized the seriousness of the incident, describing it as a violent attack that left the victim not only physically injured but also emotionally shaken. Barr urged anyone who may have witnessed the incident or seen the suspects either running or walking in the area around that time to come forward with any information.

The police are particularly interested in details regarding two males who may have been seen along Moorburn Road or in the vicinity of Middleton Drive or Gateside Street around the time of the assault.
