Assault: Former ‘Home and Away’ Star Orpheus Pledger Pleads Guilty in Violent Case

Melbourne, Australia – Former “Home and Away” actor Orpheus Pledger has admitted to a violent assault on a woman in March. Pledger, who portrayed Mason Morgan on the soap opera from 2016 to 2019, appeared in court via video link due to breaching his bail conditions.

According to reports, the woman contacted emergency services out of concern for Pledger’s mental health. She abruptly ended the call, saying, “he’s coming.” When police arrived at the scene in Melbourne, they found the victim with bruises, lacerations, and signs of strangulation.

The woman received treatment at a hospital, while Pledger was initially released on bail. However, he was taken back into custody after leaving the hospital prematurely while awaiting a mental health evaluation. Pledger’s defense attorney cited missed career opportunities and substance abuse as contributing factors to his actions.

Pledger is scheduled for sentencing on July 3. In the soap opera, Mason Morgan’s character arrived in Summer Bay in 2016 under a witness protection program. He was involved in various storylines and relationships before meeting his demise in a shooting incident at the hospital in 2019.

The actor’s legal troubles and mental health issues have cast a shadow over his acting career, raising concerns about the impact of fame and missed opportunities on individuals in the entertainment industry. This case serves as a reminder of the importance of mental health awareness and support for those struggling in high-pressure environments.
