Arrests made in connection with violent armed robbery and sexual assault in Northville Township

NORTHVILLE, MI – Police have arrested two individuals in connection with a violent armed robbery and sexual assault that took place in January in Northville Township. The first suspect, Javon Bryant Anderson, 29, from Detroit, is facing 26 felony charges, including first-degree criminal sexual conduct, armed robbery, and kidnapping. He is currently being held on a $500,000 bond and is scheduled for a court appearance on Feb. 16. The second suspect, whose name has not been released, is facing federal weapons charges and has been placed in federal custody.

The attacks occurred on Jan. 20 inside a Northville Township home, where a man was assaulted and a woman was raped. According to police, the man was lured outside the home and then attacked by the suspects. They then forced him back into the home and continued to assault him at gunpoint. One of the suspects proceeded to sexually assault a woman while the second suspect held the man and a 1-year-old child at gunpoint.

After conducting a search of homes in Detroit and Taylor, officers were able to identify and apprehend the suspects on Feb. 5. The arrest of the two individuals brings hope for justice for the victims and the community affected by the heinous crimes.
