Arrest Sought for Shooter Who Killed Georgia Woman in Broad Daylight

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga – The family of a woman tragically killed in DeKalb County is seeking justice as they mourn the loss of their loved one. Last week, a 35-year-old woman was fatally shot by an acquaintance on Moreland Avenue in DeKalb County. The victim’s family is now pushing for the arrest of the person responsible for their relative’s death.

The victim, identified as Jalisa Abney, was described by her cousin, Norell Combs, as a dedicated individual with a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. Abney, who had a background in the Army, owned two businesses – a trucking company and a car wrapping/tinting business. Tragically, the shooting occurred at Abney’s place of business, where she and a 37-year-old man were shot.

The devastating news of Abney’s shooting came suddenly, turning what seemed like a normal day into a nightmare for her family. Despite the distance between them, Combs rushed to be by her cousin’s side at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, where Abney ultimately passed away the following day.

As the family grapples with their grief, they are frustrated by the lack of media coverage surrounding the incident. While they are aware of the identity of the suspect, whom the police confirm was known to the victim, they are eager for law enforcement to make an arrest and provide closure.

In response to the family’s concerns, the DeKalb County Police Department has assured that the suspect has been identified and efforts are underway to locate and apprehend him. The family urges anyone with information related to the case to come forward and assist in the investigation.

Despite the challenges they face in the wake of this tragedy, the family remains hopeful that the legal process will bring them the justice they seek for Jalisa Abney. Their determination to see the perpetrator behind bars drives them to advocate for their loved one and demand accountability.
