Arrest Made in Slaying of 65-Year-Old Man at Delaware County Mosque

UPPER DARBY, Pennsylvania – The arrest of a 20-year-old Philadelphia man has been announced by law enforcement officials in Delaware County in connection to the October killing of a 65-year-old man in the parking lot of a mosque.

Jack Stollsteimer, the district attorney, announced the arrest of Herman Stigall, who is suspected of shooting and killing Mohammad Rahman during a carjacking outside the Masjid Al-Madinah Islamic Center in Upper Darby.

Rahman was shot during a carjacking in the parking lot of the mosque, and his vehicle, a white Toyota Rav 4, was later found in Philadelphia. Furthermore, Rahman’s cell phone was also recovered from a nearby storm drain.

Stigall has been charged with murder, robbery, firearms offenses, and other crimes. Additionally, he is believed to be connected to a robbery that occurred at the King of Prussia Mall the day after Rahman’s death.

The arrest was made after officers tracked down a vehicle they believed Stigall was operating, and he was apprehended after crashing the car on I-76. At the time of his arrest, Stigall was in possession of a handgun believed to have been used in Rahman’s murder.
