Portland, Oregon — A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting at a convenience store that took place in December 2025, according to officials from the Portland Police Bureau. The arrest occurred on February 18, as the suspect was apprehended near Southeast 84th Avenue and Southeast Beech Street.
Authorities have not released the suspect’s name. He faces multiple charges, including second-degree murder, first-degree robbery, unlawful use of a weapon, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. This latest arrest comes as part of an ongoing investigation into the tragic incident, which resulted in the death of 33-year-old Santi Ram Rai.
Rai was shot while working at the convenience store located on Southeast 139th Avenue on December 9, 2025. Multiple young individuals have been implicated in the case; in January, two other boys — aged 12 and 15 — were also arrested in Vancouver related to the same incident. The younger boy has been charged with first-degree murder, while the older one faces charges of second-degree murder. Both have been placed in the Robert L. Harris Juvenile Justice Center.
