The authorities have identified the suspect as Jake Tywone Gainey IV, 31, residing on North Cleveland Avenue, allegedly involved in the shooting death of Rashad Akeem Sims, 37, from Stockton Street.

According to the Winston-Salem police department, Gainey was apprehended at 11:30 a.m. on Friday by U.S. Marshals and a police SWAT team at the 2900 block of Lasmit Drive. He is currently being held at the Forsyth County Jail, denied any opportunity for bond, and is scheduled for his court appearance on Monday in Forsyth District Court.

The incident took place on June 10 when law enforcement officers responded to a shooting report at 11:46 p.m. in the 5000 block of Eltha Drive.
