ATLANTA, GA – A routine work meeting turned into a nightmare for a woman in Atlanta, leading to the arrest of a police officer now charged with rape and false imprisonment. Former officer Mohamed Mohammed is currently in custody following the incident.
The ordeal began when Mohammed arranged for a massage at his apartment on June 6. According to the victim, Mohammed’s demeanor changed, becoming aggressive and inappropriate. Despite her pleas, he allegedly assaulted her, threatened her with a firearm, and took back his payment.
Community members, who previously saw Mohammed as a quiet and approachable figure, are shocked by the allegations. “We never expected this,” one resident noted, expressing the community’s disbelief.
The victim reported the crime two days later, which led to an investigation. After 74 days, sufficient evidence was collected to arrest Mohammed and formally charge him.
Mohammed was placed on leave by the Atlanta Police Department during the investigation and was terminated today after a disciplinary hearing.
