Anniversary Tribute to Murdered Teen Keane Mulready-Woods Recalls Heartbreak and Sadistic Evil of Gruesome Murder

Drogheda, Ireland – Four years after the brutal murder of 17-year-old Keane Mulready-Woods, his family and friends gathered to pay tribute to the teenager. Keane was killed on January 12, 2020, in a house in the Rathmullan estate in Drogheda, and his body was dismembered before being dumped in various parts of Dublin. This act marked one of the most gruesome murders in Irish gangland history.

His dismembered torso remained missing until March 2021 when new information led the authorities to its location near the house where it is suspected he was murdered. It was a grisly and disturbing discovery that shook the local community and the country.

Keane was lured to the house in Rathmullan by local criminal Paul Crosby on the night of his murder. Authorities believe he was then murdered and dismembered by Robbie Lawlor, a slain serial killer. Lawlor, who was shot dead three months later, was linked to the ongoing bitter Drogheda feud.

In February 2023, two men, Paul Crosby and Gerard ‘Rocky’ Cruise, both from Drogheda, were convicted and jailed for facilitating the murder of Keane. A third man, Gerard ‘Ged’ McKenna, also from Drogheda, pleaded guilty to cleaning up and removing evidence from the scene of the murder and was sentenced to four years in prison.

Keane’s family honored his memory in a local paper with a touching poem, and his close friend also expressed his love and sadness on social media. As the community continued to mourn the loss, Keane’s heartbroken mother Elizabeth reflected on the devastating impact of her son’s death during the sentencing of those responsible.

To date, 13 people, including women, have been arrested in connection with the extensive murder investigation which is actively continuing by detectives in Drogheda. Detective involved in the investigation are confident of more people being charged in connection with Keane’s murder. The bitter Drogheda feud, which ignited in early 2018, has already claimed four lives and led to more than 100 violent incidents including shootings, homes being petrol bombed, and a vicious kidnapping.
