American Fork Community Honors Victims of Murder-Suicide in Candlelight Vigil

American Fork, Utah – The American Fork community united in a candlelight vigil at a nearby park to honor the couple tragically lost in a suspected murder-suicide. Authorities have identified the deceased as 57-year-old Olin Johnson and his wife, 52-year-old Kerilyn Johnson. It is believed that Olin Johnson fatally shot his wife before turning the gun on himself.

The gathering, known as the Celebration of Life, took place on Sunday evening to show support for the couple’s six children. Melanie Cartwright expressed the community’s solidarity, stating, “Tonight, we just want them to feel how many people love them and are rooting for their success and are grieving with them. They are not alone.”

In response to the tragic event, a GoFundMe page has been set up to assist the children with funeral expenses and other unexpected costs. The community is encouraged to donate to support the Johnson family during this difficult time.
