Abuser Brutally Stamped on Ex-Girlfriend After She Rejected Him

LIVERPOOL, England – A recent case of domestic abuse highlights the dangers faced by victims of intimate partner violence. Alan Hall, a father of two, was sentenced to 18 months in prison after pleading guilty to stalking and assault causing grievous bodily harm. The Liverpool Crown Court also granted a restraining order, preventing him from contacting the victim for seven years.

The court heard that Hall and his former partner had met on Facebook, but their relationship quickly turned violent. After just six weeks, when the victim ended the relationship, Hall continued to harass and follow her. He damaged her phone, the locks on her house, and would show up at the street where she lived as well as at her friend’s address.

The abuse culminated in a disturbing incident captured on CCTV at a mutual friend’s house in St Helens in August of the previous year. In the video, Hall can be seen shouting at the victim and expressing his desire for her. When she rejected him, he proceeded to physically assault her, deliberately stamping on both of her feet, resulting in a broken toe and a number of damaged bones.

During sentencing, the court was informed that Hall has a criminal record with seven convictions for 11 offenses, several of which are related to violence against women and ex-partners. Judge Stuart Driver emphasized the severity of the case, denouncing Hall as dangerous and highlighting his poor compliance with court orders. The judge ultimately decided against suspending the sentence, citing Hall’s high risk of causing serious harm in the future.

In light of this case, it is important to recognize the prevalence of domestic abuse and the importance of supporting survivors. This harrowing experience serves as a reminder of the urgent need for effective intervention and support systems for individuals facing domestic violence.
