Kharkiv, Ukraine – In a daring operation on the Pokrovsk front, soldiers from the 144th Centre of Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces (SOF) successfully cleared Russian troops from an industrial building while capturing nine Russian soldiers. According to reports from the SOF press service, drone operators had been offering the Russian troops a chance to surrender for several days before the operation took place.
Using a UAV-mounted loudspeaker, SOF fighters urged the Russian soldiers to surrender, but after they refused, a team from the 144th Centre infiltrated behind enemy lines, rigged the industrial building with explosives, and detonated it. The powerful explosion prompted the Russian troops to wave a white cloth from the damaged building, signaling their intent to surrender.
Following the explosion, two groups of enemy soldiers, consisting of four and five individuals each, began moving towards Ukrainian positions, some of them wounded. Ukrainian special forces immediately provided first aid to the Russian troops and initiated their evacuation.
This successful operation showcases the strategic and tactical capabilities of Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces in confronting Russian aggression on the front lines. The use of drones and loudspeakers to communicate with the enemy, as well as the swift and decisive action taken by the SOF soldiers, highlights the effectiveness of Ukraine’s military in defending its territory.
The captured Russian soldiers will undergo further processing and interrogation, providing valuable intelligence for Ukrainian forces on enemy movements and tactics. The operation serves as a testament to the bravery and skill of Ukraine’s special forces in the ongoing conflict with Russian forces.
