Detectives say a victim was struck with a gun and escaped to call 911.
SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Two men were arrested Monday in connection with a Nov. 24 incident near a dead end on Prue Road that police say involved kidnapping and aggravated robbery. The victim suffered a head injury and lost a phone before getting help from a nearby home, according to San Antonio police.
The arrests follow weeks of canvassing and records checks that began after the 911 call in late November. Detectives said they tracked leads tied to a vehicle and addresses connected to the suspects, then moved in at a residence linked to one of the men. The department said both suspects face aggravated robbery charges while investigators continue to review the case for any additional counts. Officials did not immediately release the suspects’ names, citing the active investigation and pending filings with prosecutors.
Police said the confrontation unfolded at a Prue Road cul-de-sac on the Northwest Side. According to an incident narrative, the victim was forced out of a vehicle, hit with the butt of a shotgun and had a phone taken during the struggle. “The victim ran to a nearby residence to call 911,” the department said, adding that medics evaluated the head injury at the scene. Officers collected initial statements and searched for surveillance video along the block and at nearby intersections, then handed the case to detectives for follow-up interviews and warrants.
Investigators said the working theory involves prior friction between the parties, though the exact dispute remains unclear. Police did not announce the recovery of a firearm, and no additional victims were identified. The department said the charged offense is aggravated robbery, consistent with reports noting a weapon and an injury; kidnapping elements were documented in the initial call, but the specific duration of restraint remained unspecified. The victim’s condition after evaluation was described as stable. Officers did not provide a dollar estimate for property loss beyond the phone reported stolen.
Prue Road sits near the South Texas Medical Center, where neighborhoods meet wooded dead ends and business parks. Residents along the corridor said they saw flashing lights and patrols on Nov. 24 and again on Monday during the arrests. One neighbor said officers returned repeatedly in early December to ask about doorbell cameras and to verify times traffic entered and left the cul-de-sac. Another resident said detectives marked tire tracks and took photos near a drainage curb where a small pool of blood was visible after the incident.
With the arrests, the case heads to the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office for charge review. A magistrate will set bond amounts after booking. If prosecutors seek indictments, a grand jury could hear the case in early January, depending on scheduling. Police said they expect to file supplemental reports as lab work and interview summaries are completed. Any additional arrests or upgraded charges would be reflected in updated filings and public jail logs as they occur.
As of Monday night, both men were in custody on aggravated robbery counts. Police characterized the investigation as active and said more details would be released in charging documents once they are finalized by the county clerk.
