Washington, D.C – President Donald Trump expressed his satisfaction after the cancellation of Joy Reid’s show on MSNBC, launching a scathing attack on the network and its host in a social media post where he referred to her as one of the “least talented people.”
Reid’s show, The ReidOut, was axed as part of a network-wide overhaul under the leadership of the new boss, Rebecca Kutler. In response to the news, Reid seemed to confirm the cancellation in a post on Bluesky, stating that she will be hosting her show “one more time.” Trump, who has a history of criticizing media outlets, took to Truth Social to commend the decision to pull the plug on Reid’s show, labeling her as a “mentally obnoxious racist” who deserved to be let go much earlier.
Throughout her time on air, Reid has been vocal in her criticism of Trump, once urging Democrats to support Joe Biden’s reelection campaign in order to prevent “Hitler from the White House.” She even went as far as to describe Trump as an “insurrectionist” following the events of the 2021 Capitol attack on January 6. Speculation arose suggesting that Trump played a role in the cancellation of Reid’s show, although Kutler has denied these rumors.
In addition to targeting Reid, Trump also took aim at other media personalities, including Al Sharpton and Alex Wagner. He criticized Sharpton for having low TV ratings and launched a scathing attack on Wagner, who is reportedly not returning to Rachel Maddow’s hosting slot. Trump labeled MSNBC’s overall operation as “corrupt,” accusing the network of being an arm of the Democratic Party. He concluded his social media post by stating that “Fake News is an UNPARDONABLE SIN!”
