LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA – In a case that shook the community, three men were sentenced to life imprisonment for a deadly home invasion, bringing relief and a sense of closure to the victim’s family.
The men, Kevin Roberts, Charles Fuller, and Jeremy Fuentes, misjudged their target, leading to the tragic death of 25-year-old Andrew Gaudio and leaving his mother, Bernadette, paralyzed. The trio, employed by a junk removal company, had planned to rob a different home.
The Montgomery County District Attorney detailed how Fuentes had informed his co-conspirators about firearms at another location. In court, the Gaudio family shared their heart-wrenching experiences, adding emotional weight to the proceedings.
Presiding Judge Wendy Furman labeled the crime as one of the most cold-hearted she’d ever encountered. The sentencing marked the end of a grueling journey for the Gaudios, who expressed gratitude for the justice served.
Convicted of first-degree murder, Fuller and Roberts received additional sentences of 60 to 120 years and 55.5 to 120 years, respectively. Family members of Roberts highlighted his mental health issues during the trial.
Fuentes, found guilty of second-degree murder, was sentenced to life, with a supplementary 4 to 20-year term. He apologized to the Gaudio family during his hearing.
The invasion resulted in Bernadette being shot in her bed and Andrew being executed in front of her, a scene that left lasting scars on the family.
Robert Gaudio chose not to seek the death penalty, stating that being forgotten was a fate worse than death. He mourned the loss of his brother and best friend, Andrew, and the void it left in their lives.
To support Bernadette’s recovery, an online fundraiser was created, with the family planning a memorial to honor Andrew’s life as they focus on healing and moving forward.
