NORTH LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – The community of Grace Point Church in North Las Vegas is grieving the tragic loss of Pastor Nick Davi, who was murdered by his neighbor last month. A memorial service is planned for next week, and an estimated 1,000 people are expected to attend, a testament to the impact of Davi’s passing.
Pastor Ty Neal of Grace Point Church expressed his deep sorrow during a recent service, sharing with the congregation the profound sense of loss felt by the community. He spoke about the complexities of faith, addressing the apparent contradictions between God’s love and compassion and the suffering of good people in light of Davi’s passing.
The fatal shooting occurred on December 29 within the gated Courts at Aliante community. The assailant, a neighbor who had been causing distress to the Davi family, was arrested at the scene. The dispute between the two families had been ongoing, escalating over several months, ultimately resulting in the tragic outcome.
The memorial service for Davi is scheduled for January 15 at Grace Point Church, with over 1,000 attendees expected. The service will also be broadcast live on the church’s YouTube channel to allow those unable to attend in person to participate in honoring Davi’s memory.
The accused, Joe Junio, faces multiple charges, including murder, attempted murder, and child abuse involving a gun. The community remains concerned about the nature of the disagreement that led to such a violent conclusion, and residents are also worried about recent upticks in violence in the typically peaceful Courts at Aliante community.
Pastor Davi’s contributions to the community extended beyond his church duties. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to assist the Davi family during this difficult period.
