Johnson City, Texas – A tragic accident in the Hill Country has left three people dead and three others injured, as reported by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The devastating crash took place just north of Johnson City in Blanco County. According to Texas Highway Patrol Sergeant Billy Ray, the collision occurred when the driver of a Chevrolet Trax failed to yield while making a left turn from FM 1323 onto U.S. 281. The Trax collided with a Toyota Tacoma traveling south, causing a chain reaction of events.
The impact of the crash sent the Tacoma into the northbound lane of U.S. 281, where it was struck by a Toyota 4Runner. The aftermath was tragic, as Annett Morales, aged 27, and four-year-old Carlos Morales IV, passengers in the Tacoma, lost their lives at the scene. Larry Higgins, age 71, who was driving the 4Runner, also tragically passed away. The drivers of the Trax and Tacoma, as well as a passenger in the 4Runner, sustained “incapacitating” injuries and were rushed to local hospitals for treatment.
The investigation into the crash is currently ongoing, with no charges filed as of yet. The authorities are working diligently to determine the cause of the accident and ensure that justice is served for the victims.
