Tragedy: Family Members Slain in Shocking Mississippi Shooting Spree

CLAY COUNTY, Miss. — A tragic shooting incident has left a family grieving and a community in disbelief after a relative allegedly turned on three family members. The dramatic events unfolded when 24-year-old Daricka Moore is accused of killing her own relatives: 67-year-old Glenn Moore, 55-year-old Willie Guines, and 33-year-old Quinten Moore, all of whom were shot at their residence on David Hill Road.

Family members expressed their shock and sorrow, struggling to comprehend the tragedy that has struck their lives. “When I first heard the news, I just couldn’t believe it,” said Kimberly Moore, a relative of the victims. Similarly, Virsie Jennings reflected on the grim revelation, stating, “I was really shocked; I could not believe that he got killed.”

Authorities reported that after the shootings, Moore allegedly stole a Ford F-150 belonging to Quinten Moore. She is believed to have then driven to another location on Blake Road, where an attempted sexual assault was reported. During this incident, she fatally shot a seven-year-old girl, who is also identified as her second cousin.

“This is a really sad situation,” Kimberly Moore said. “We all need prayer at this time.” The string of violence continued as Moore drove to a property on Siloam Griffith Road, where deputies later discovered the bodies of Barry and Samuel Bradley, along with the stolen truck hidden behind the residence. Signs of forced entry were also found at the scene.

Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott described the case as one of the most challenging he has encountered in nearly three decades of service. “We lift our hearts in prayer for the victims’ families,” he stated. The sheriff indicated that there does not appear to be any prior criminal history involving the suspect, and the motivation behind the violent acts remains unclear.

As the community grapples with the impact of these events, Kimberly Moore emphasized the importance of mental health awareness within families. “Mental illness is something serious that we as a family should try and check on our people. We really do not know what happened, and this was just a family dispute. We are asking for prayer.”

Daricka Moore has been charged with first-degree murder, but this charge may be elevated to capital murder as the investigation continues. Additional charges are also anticipated as law enforcement agencies delve deeper into the case.

“This situation underscores the need for better communication and mental health awareness,” Kimberly Moore noted. “Gun violence is never the answer. Anytime you feel like you are getting to that point, take a moment to think and pray. A single mistake can lead to the devastation of many lives.”
