Teen Attacked on Way to Bus Stop Over Alleged AirPods Theft Causes Trauma and Safety Fears in Spokane

Spokane, Washington – In Spokane, a teenage boy faced a harrowing attack on his way to a bus stop, leaving him in a state of trauma and fear for his safety. The altercation initially stemmed from an accusation involving a pair of AirPods.

According to Emily Gewock, the teenager’s legal guardian, the attack was described as “heart-wrenching.” Gewock recounted how the teen attempted to walk away from a confrontation but was viciously assaulted. She emphasized the helplessness of the teen in the video, as he tried to escape multiple times but was continuously pulled back down.

In a distressing revelation, Gewock shared the chilling words uttered by her son, expressing his uncertainty about surviving the ordeal. Despite multiple reports made by Gewock to the police, she stressed the importance of documentation especially as a foster parent.

Spokane Public Schools affirmed that they followed proper procedures by contacting law enforcement. It was clarified that the assailant was not a student at the same school as Gewock’s child.

Despite the arrest of the individual responsible for the attack, threats persisted through social media channels. Gewock recounted disturbing messages encouraging violence towards her child, a situation she found deeply unsettling.

The neighborhood also bore the brunt of the incident, with signs making damaging accusations. Gewock expressed her frustration at the falsity of the claims, prompting her to remind the public that the truth can be obtained through public records.

In an effort to aid her child’s recovery, Gewock is dedicated to rebuilding his confidence. She acknowledged her anger while also showing some understanding towards the attackers, portraying them as fearful individuals.

Gewock urged fellow parents to remain vigilant about their children’s whereabouts and engage in challenging conversations. Her emphasis on parental awareness and proactive communication underscores the importance of nurturing a safe and supportive environment for young individuals.
