Initially perceived as a political gimmick, Republican governors’ efforts to bring migrants to Democratic strongholds have Democratic authorities scrambling as migrants arrive unexpectedly in more locations.
Texas migrants dropped off at Union Station in Chicago’s city center were taken by bus to another suburb. This time the location they were then taken to the suburb of Elk Grove Village. This marks the 2nd bus load of migrants that have now been relocated from Chicago.
Earlier this week, Gov. Greg Abbott took advantage of New York City’s right to shelter law by sending dozens of migrants to the Port Authority Bus Terminal as he continues his fight with President Biden and his administration over immigration policies.
