LUBBOCK, Texas – Authorities in Hobbs are currently seeking individuals for questioning in connection with a double homicide case. The suspects, Erika Quintela, Jacob Villegas, and Starla Franco, are being sought in relation to the tragic deaths of 54-year-old David Castillo and 52-year-old Felipe Castillo. The Hobbs Police Department urges anyone with information regarding this case to come forward and assist in the investigation.
Additionally, the Hobbs Police Department is also seeking information regarding a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred on May 12. The crash, which resulted in the death of pedestrian Leroy Gonzales, involved a truck driven by a juvenile at the intersection of Broadway and Turner Street. Authorities are asking for the public’s help in piecing together the events leading up to the tragic incident.
In a separate incident, Iranian officials have reported a helicopter crash that resulted in the deaths of the Iranian president, foreign minister, and all passengers on board. The crash occurred as the helicopter was returning from an event at the country’s border and made a hard landing in a mountainous area. Rescue efforts are currently underway at the crash site.
