SUMY, UKRAINE – Russian troops launched 16 attacks on settlements in the Sumy region, causing damage to houses and other buildings during the night and morning hours. According to reports from the Sumy Regional Military Administration on social media, the attacks targeted various communities across the region, resulting in multiple explosions and destruction.
The Esman community in Sumy was hit with multiple rocket launcher system (MLRS) attacks and FPV drone explosions, leading to damage to three private homes. In Yunakivka, Russian forces used self-propelled artillery units (SAU) and launched guided aerial bombs, causing additional destruction in the area.
The Krasnopilia community experienced an attack from an FPV drone, while Velykopysarivka faced a barrage of 12 mines dropped by Russian troops. The attacks also targeted the Sumy community with explosive ordnance dropped from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), damaging residential and non-residential structures in the area.
Furthermore, the Bilopilia community witnessed two explosions as a result of explosive ordnance dropped from a UAV. Additionally, an office building in Sumy suffered damage due to a drone attack by the Russian forces during the night.
The series of attacks in the Sumy region has resulted in widespread destruction and raised concerns about the safety and security of civilians in the area. Local authorities are assessing the extent of the damage and working to provide assistance to those affected by the ongoing conflict.
