New York City – In Upper Manhattan, two teenage boys fell victim to a violent attack on the subway platform at the Dyckman Street station. The incident, which took place around 3 p.m. on Monday, February 17, involved the teenagers being assaulted by a group of four individuals, leading to theft and injuries.
According to police reports, the 16-year-old and 15-year-old victims were targeted by the assailants who physically assaulted them before brandishing a scalpel. As a result, the 16-year-old sustained a slash on his head, while the 15-year-old suffered cuts to his nose and lip during the altercation.
Following the attack, the perpetrators proceeded to rob the teenagers, taking items such as a cellphone and Nike Jordan sneakers from the 16-year-old, and confiscating one sneaker from the 15-year-old before fleeing the scene towards Dyckman Street.
Emergency responders were quick to transport both victims to NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where they received medical care and were listed in stable condition post-assault.
In the wake of the incident, law enforcement authorities have released descriptions of two of the suspects involved in the attack. One suspect is believed to be approximately 16 years old, with a medium complexion and slim build, last seen donning a dark green Canada Goose coat, gray sweatpants, and black sneakers. Meanwhile, the second suspect is described as having a dark complexion and was spotted wearing a black winter coat with tan fur lining on the hood, paired with blue jeans.
The New York Police Department (NYPD) is currently conducting an investigation into the matter and appealing to the public for any information regarding the suspects’ whereabouts and identities.
