PITTSBURGH, PA – A Florida man’s uninvited entry into a Pittsburgh residence early Sunday morning led to a dramatic confrontation. Dominique Peebles, living on Haverhill Street, was jolted awake by an unfamiliar sound in her daughter’s bedroom.
Investigating further, Peebles discovered a stranger, later identified as 23-year-old Miguel Angel Meza from Miami, asleep with his pants down. Reacting quickly, Peebles confronted Meza, who appeared to be under the influence, and managed to remove him from her home.
Despite her efforts, Meza lingered on her porch. This prompted Peebles, a licensed firearm owner, to fire warning shots, which finally spurred Meza to leave. He retreated to a neighboring house, where police later found him hiding under blankets.
