Ambala, India – A Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader from Ambala was shot dead by armed assailants in Naraingarh, prompting a joint operation by Haryana Police and the special task force (STF) to engage one of the alleged shooters in an encounter in Mullana town. The deceased, identified as Sagar from Shahzadpur town, attempted to evade law enforcement but was fatally shot during the confrontation. Inspector Deepender Singh of the STF confirmed the details of the operation.
Singh, leading a team along with officers from Ambala, received a tip-off that led them to Mullana. When they attempted to apprehend Sagar, he opened fire on the team before being neutralized. The police, equipped with bulletproof gear, remained unharmed during the exchange. Authorities have disclosed that there may be several more individuals involved in the crime.
An autopsy on the deceased assailant is scheduled for Thursday, followed by the release of the body to his family. In relation to the murder of BSP leader Harbilas Rajjumajra, the Ambala police have already arrested five suspects. Venkat Garg, a known gangster claiming responsibility for the murder, is currently evading capture. Reports suggest that Garg may have fled the country using false documentation, although these claims are yet to be substantiated by law enforcement.
Despite ongoing developments in the case, Ambala superintendent of police Surender Singh Bhoria has not issued a formal statement. The situation remains fluid as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
