Stabbing Incident at Chesterfield Homewood Suites Leaves Manager and Employee Injured, Suspect Arrested with Firearm

Chesterfield, Mo. — An employee at a local hotel is facing serious charges after a violent confrontation left two people injured Wednesday morning. Randy Regans allegedly attacked his manager and another employee at the Homewood Suites on Chesterfield Parkway West.

The Chesterfield Police Department received reports of the stabbing at approximately 8:55 a.m. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered that Regans, 29, had punched his manager in the face and then proceeded to stab him in the torso. A coworker who attempted to intervene was also stabbed in the thigh during the incident. Both victims were rushed to a nearby hospital where their injuries were deemed serious but not life-threatening.

Within minutes of the attack, law enforcement located Regans in a nearby residential area and arrested him without resistance. Authorities reported that he was armed with a loaded firearm at the time of his apprehension. The swift response included assistance from K-9 units from the Ellisville and Maryland Heights police departments, who helped gather evidence at the crime scene.

Regans, who had just started his shift, was charged by the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office with two counts of first-degree assault and two counts of armed criminal action. As of Thursday morning, he remained in custody at the St. Louis County Jail with a cash-only bond set at $50,000.
