DALLAS – A tragic shooting incident at a DART station has resulted in the death of a 28-year-old father, who was attacked in front of his children. Authorities report that an 18-year-old suspect is currently in custody following this disturbing confrontation.
The shooting occurred around 9:40 p.m. on Thursday, when DART Police received an emergency call regarding the incident at the 8th and Crointh Station. Responding officers quickly arrived on the scene and found Erin La James Graham suffering from serious injuries.
According to an arrest affidavit, the altercation began when Graham was at the station with his children. Demetrius Rogers, the suspect, told investigators he and his brother approached Graham and offered him a polite “excuse me” as they maneuvered past. In response, Graham allegedly made a comment that escalated tensions, leading to a verbal exchange between the two parties.
Rogers claimed that his brother perceived Graham’s reply as disrespectful, prompting both men to assume fighting stances. In the ensuing chaos, Rogers is alleged to have shot Graham in the chest.
