Shooting at McKinney Apartment Complex Leaves Two Dead, Two in Custody for Murder Charge

Authorities were alerted to the situation just after 8 p.m. at an apartment complex located on the 3300 block of North McDonald Street. Eyewitnesses recounted a harrowing scene where a man approached the passenger of a Dodge pickup truck, triggering a deadly exchange of gunfire that left two individuals injured.

The driver of the Dodge truck rushed his wounded passenger, a 20-year-old resident from Princeton, to Medical City McKinney for urgent medical attention. Similarly, the 19-year-old man from McKinney who initiated the confrontation received immediate aid before being transported to the same medical facility by EMS personnel.

Tragically, both victims succumbed to their injuries while receiving medical treatment. Their identities remain undisclosed as authorities continue to conduct their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the double homicide.

A vigilant McKinney police officer at the hospital identified the suspect’s vehicle leaving the premises, leading to a pursuit that concluded in Richardson. Despite the driver’s attempt to elude capture by abandoning the truck and fleeing on foot, law enforcement successfully apprehended him, along with an 18-year-old accomplice also present at the hospital.
