Acton, Massachusetts – Tragedy struck in Acton, Massachusetts, when a 16-year-old girl fell victim to a heinous crime at the hands of her stepfather in what authorities suspect was a murder-suicide, as reported by the Middlesex District Attorney’s office. The girl, whose name has not been disclosed, was allegedly abducted by her stepfather, 49-year-old Juliano Santana, as she walked home after school along Great Road. Santana reportedly committed the unthinkable act of shooting the girl before taking his own life.
Investigations revealed a harrowing past between Santana and the victim, with the man facing charges of raping the girl in 2021 and her having obtained a restraining order against him. Tragically, the disturbing case reached a devastating end when both were discovered lifeless in Santana’s vehicle, parked outside the victim’s residence, with fatal gunshot wounds. The victim had reached out to a family member, claiming Santana had abducted her, prompting swift police intervention in the hope of rescuing her.
Prior to the tragic incident, Santana was under legal scrutiny, having been accused of sexually assaulting the victim on multiple occasions starting in October 2019 when she was just 11 years old. Upon Santana’s arrest in September 2021, he faced six counts of aggravated rape and was placed under strict conditions, including wearing a GPS monitoring device and having no contact with the victim or minors. The legal process was set to unfold in court, with a trial date scheduled for July 29, 2024.
