The New London School Explosion of 1937, which claimed the lives of many and changed countless others forever, remains a solemn day of reflection for the region.
A memorial service is scheduled to mark the 88th Anniversary of the devastating explosion on Tuesday, March 18 at 2:15 p.m. at the foot of the London Cenotaph along Texas 42 in New London. The service will feature guest speakers, prayers, and possibly the playing of “Taps,” providing an opportunity for the public to join in paying their respects.
