MADERA, Calif. – A tragic incident unfolded at a Walgreens in Madera, California, leaving the community in shock as a man walked into the store and gunned down an employee. The Madera Police Chief revealed that the suspect harbored a grudge against large pharmacies, leading to the senseless killing of Erick Velasquez.
Chief Gino Chiaramonte stated that the suspect, Narciso Gallardo Fernandez, opened fire inside the store, resulting in Velasquez’s untimely death. The incident appeared to be random, as investigators found no prior connection between the two individuals.
Surveillance footage captured Fernandez brandishing his weapon and destroying a security camera before targeting other individuals in the store. Despite his attempts, no other injuries were reported among the employees and customers present during the attack.
