Harvard, Illinois — Authorities have ruled the deaths of a newlywed couple found in their car to be a murder-suicide. Rachel Dumovich, 29, and Brandon Dumovich, 30, were discovered on October 6, prompting an investigation by the Harvard Police Department. Both individuals died from gunshot wounds to the head, with police concluding Brandon fatally shot Rachel before taking his own life.
An officer found the couple’s vehicle parked along Route 14 with hazard lights flashing. Upon inspecting the scene, it was confirmed that both had already succumbed to their injuries. A firearm was located inside the vehicle as part of the investigation. The McHenry County Major Investigative Assistance Team was called to assist local authorities.
