CINCINNATI, Ohio — A tragic event unfolded in March 2023 when a 26-year-old pregnant woman, India Kinamore, was fatally shot in her home on the day she was to induce her labor. Kinamore’s death has prompted a complex investigation that culminated in recent indictments against three men.
Authorities report that Kinamore was killed on March 4, intended to welcome her child that day. The alleged assailants, Robert Ervin, Kayvon Warren, and Lamar Morris Suggs, were indicted on August 21. Their indictment includes 13 charges: four counts of aggravated murder, along with multiple counts related to burglary and felony assault, according to the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office.
Investigations revealed that the crime scene was manipulated to appear as a burglary gone wrong. Prosecutor Connie Pillich described the event as heartbreaking and stated that it robbed Kinamore of what should have been a joyful moment in her life. She emphasized the collaborative conspiracy among the suspected assailants to carry out the crime.
Investigators identified Warren as the father of Kinamore’s unborn child. He reportedly pressured her to terminate the pregnancy, which, under Ohio law, could not be executed at the time due to restrictions. At the time of the shooting, Warren was struggling financially and had found himself in an unstable living situation, allegedly seeking solace with another woman.
Insights into the case reveal a troubling premeditation. Reports indicate that prior to Kinamore’s death, Warren had requested bereavement leave from his job, raising eyebrows about his intentions. The circumstances surrounding the tragedy have led to heightened emotional responses from the families involved.
Following the arrests, Terri Kinamore, India’s mother, expressed her relief at the progress of the case. “Now I am able to come back and tell her that justice is finally being served,” she stated. This sentiment reflects a broader communal hope for justice amid a painful narrative.
The charges levied against Ervin, Warren, and Suggs could potentially lead to life sentences, highlighting the severe legal repercussions stemming from this case. As the justice system progresses, advocates for Kinamore are watching closely, hoping for resolutions that honor the loss felt by her family and the community.
