FORT PAYNE, Ala. — A man from Oxford is facing capital murder charges following a shooting that left two individuals dead in Fort Payne. Jacob Eugene Mitchum, 27, is accused of fatally shooting Alisha Nichole Keller, 27, and Logan Cordale Brown, 24, late Sunday afternoon.
Authorities reported that the incident occurred around 5:59 p.m. in the kitchen area of an apartment located in the 1300 block of Alabama Avenue NW. Responding officers discovered the victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite prompt medical efforts, both were declared dead at the scene.
Following the shooting, Mitchum was quickly identified as the suspect and was arrested in Oxford without incident. Officers from the Oxford Police Department, along with assistance from the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, executed the arrest.
