HILO, Hawaii – A day-long manhunt for a murder suspect in Hawaii came to a dramatic end in a shootout with police officers in Volcano. The suspect, 28-year-old Isaiah Kaleo Jiaan Fourshey, was shot near the Namakanipaio Campground off Highway 11, leading to his death at Hilo Benioff Medical Center.
The event unfolded after Fourshey allegedly killed a 25-year-old woman in Puna, sparking a police search that concluded with the fatal encounter. The incident began when Fourshey arrived at a home in Mountain View looking for his ex-girlfriend’s daughter. He ended up firing shots at the woman’s husband before fleeing the scene.
As law enforcement pursued leads, another call came in reporting that Fourshey had entered a different residence and shot at two women, resulting in the death of 28-year-old Latisha Soares.
