Las Vegas, NV – Two individuals have been arrested in connection with a shooting at a homeless encampment in Las Vegas that resulted in the deaths of two people and injuries to three others. The motive behind the deadly December 1 shooting has not been disclosed by the authorities.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Cristobal Perez, 31, and Kylee Au Young, 21, were apprehended on Thursday in relation to the incident. Lt. Jason Johansson stated that the shooting was a “targeted attack” following a dispute between Perez and a relative in the area.
Perez faces two counts of open murder and three counts of attempted murder, while Au Young has been booked on two counts of open murder and one count of conspiracy to commit murder. No legal representation for the arrested individuals is shown in online court records.
Investigators are urging anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward. The police department emphasized the importance of community assistance in a statement released regarding the case.
