According to investigators, the granddaughter, Mariah Rain Wrangle, had been living with her grandparents for about three weeks. She was reportedly trying to stabilize her life while dealing with bipolar disorder and substance abuse issues. The arrangement took a tragic turn in the early hours of Saturday.
Charlotte County deputies responded to the residence shortly after 3 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Wrangle in the master bedroom, deceased from a gunshot wound to her chest.
