GALLATIN, Tenn. – Two individuals were apprehended by the Gallatin Police Department for their alleged involvement in the shooting and killing of a goose at Lock 4 Park on January 20.
The investigation was initiated by the GPD following a report of four individuals potentially engaged in the unlawful act of shooting a goose at the park. In collaboration with the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency, law enforcement officers pursued leads to locate a Chevrolet Tahoe that was believed to have been used in the incident.
After a joint effort between GPD and TWRA, two suspects were arrested, and the deceased goose was recovered. Both agencies emphasized their dedication to upholding wildlife protection laws and ensuring accountability for those who partake in illegal activities.
The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of respecting wildlife and adhering to regulations put in place to safeguard animals in public spaces. Acts of animal cruelty not only violate the law but also pose a threat to the delicate balance of ecosystems.
