Benton County, Arkansas – Multiple fatalities have been reported after tornadoes tore through parts of Arkansas, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. The severe storms hit Northwest Arkansas early Sunday morning, causing widespread damage across several counties.
During a press conference held on Sunday morning, Barry Moehring, Benton County judge, confirmed that at least one person was killed in eastern Benton County due to the storm. Multiple agencies are actively responding to the affected areas to assist with recovery efforts and assess the extent of the damage caused by the tornadoes.
Reports indicate that there were at least three tornadoes that touched down the previous night, with one near Decatur, two around Beaver Lake, and possible others in Benton County. Tragically, a 26-year-old woman was found deceased outside a destroyed home in Olvey, a small community in Boone County, as confirmed by the county’s Office of Emergency Management.
Authorities from various counties have also confirmed storm-related deaths, including Baxter County Sheriff’s Office reporting one fatality and Marion County Sheriff Greg Alexander reporting two storm-related deaths in their county.
