According to Sheriff Byron Swilley, the Wesson truck stop was targeted in a robbery late on Tuesday night. During the incident, a suspect carjacked and fatally shot 60-year-old Vincent Ratliff, who later succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital.
Following the shooting, Ratliff’s stolen vehicle was discovered not far from the truck stop.
